After moving out of the
dorms, we had to find somewhere to spend 2 nights, before we left for our
cruise. We decided to go back to Napoli because it was cheap and it has
delicious pizza. We only had one full day to spend doing something, so we chose
to go to the island of Capri. Capri is an island off the coast of Napoli. It is
famous for being a vacation getaway for a lot of Europe's wealthy people.
In order to get there, we had to catch a ferry from the Napoli harbor.
The ferry ride was a little over an hour. We took the first ferry of the
morning at 7:45, which allowed us to reach Capri before the mass amounts
of tourists arrived in the afternoon.
We were fortunate to
have amazing weather. It was sunny, but not too hot. Luckily it wasn't cloudy,
so we were able to take in all the fantastic views. It turns out that there
isn't much to actually do on the island besides walking around, shopping (all
high end, designer stores), and eating. There are a couple attractions, such as
the blue grotto and a chairlift ride to the top of the island. Unfortunately
everything was really expensive, so we mainly walked around, people watched,
and enjoyed the gorgeous views.
